The newest addition to Peat Rigg's environmental plan; the sensory garden. Situated just beside the chickens and pigs, this is an area to explore with plants to look at, smell, taste, touch and even listen to!
The sensory garden is all about using our senses to engage with the environment, and also to provide opportunities for our visitors to see the natural cycle of regeneration in nature, through the onsite composting system.
We have an amazing array of plants that you can touch, taste, smell, hear and look at. It is designed to offer something all year round, and can be enjoyed in winter just as much as summer.
Wherever possible we have chosen plants that also benefit the local environment and wildlife, as well as helping us to enjoy the natural world.
